Nessie and Peter Poston look forward to welcoming you to their home. Built in 1510 but with all the comforts of modern day living. Our rooms have bath robes,hair dryers, tea/coffee tray with biscuits, toiletries, television, clock radios and comfortable armchairs. En suite and non en-suite rooms available. Feather and down duvets and proper pillows. However, if you have allergies, we are happy to provide synthetic bedding. Electric blankets in winter and fans in summer. Guests are welcome to check emails, and we have wifi available free of charge. Breakfasts are a feast of local bacon and sausages, mushrooms, free range eggs, home grown tomatoes and home made preserves. Continental breakfast is available for early airport departures and packed lunches for onward journeys. Vegetarian diets happily catered for. There are two pubs in our village, both serving good food, and many good local restaurants. We are happy to make recommendations and reservations. We can also book local taxis. We are close to Stansted Airport, Finchingfield, Thaxted, Braintree, Unex Towerlands Equestrian Centre and Great Dunmow. Cambridge is 40 minutes away, and Chelmsford 30 minutes. We are also conveniently situated for Spains Hall, Lees Priory, The Fennes Estate, Maidens Barn, and The High Barn in our own village of Great Bardfield, all popular wedding venues. The new Great Leighs race course is 15 minutes away, as is Freeport Shopping Outlet. Whether its a weekend or midweek break in a lovely rural setting, or a business trip, Great Bardfield is perfectly placed to provide all that you could want. Latest check-in time at Bucks House is 22.00 We regret we only take children under one and over 10. We can provide a travel cot and a high chair. Please note that we do not accept credit cards.
