| A guest bedroom - Single/double/twin rooms have en-suite facilities, TV, free to air digital receiver, hair drier, and radio alarm.
Suites have two bedrooms, a lounge/diner with TV, video, free to air digital receiver, radio alarm, private facilities, hair driers, and snack kitchen. A warm welcome. - Join us for tea and biscuits on arrival. We are happy to help you find the best places to eat, the prettiest views, and most exciting attractions in the area. Endless tea and coffee is always available. Aerial view - Directions: - From the centre of Crich Village take Sandy Lane towards Whatstandwell and Wirksworth. You will go up a hill, out of the village, into open countryside. After half a mile turn right into our driveway (signed PENROSE & AVISTA). (Avista is the name we gave to our grounds which include two stone cottages). Penrose B&B is straight down the drive (about 100 yards). Entrance to a 2 bedroom suite - Suites have one or two bedrooms, a lounge, a snack kitchen, & private gardens. The smaller suite has a shower room which is shared by all the occupants of the suite. the larger suite has en-suite facilities within each bedroom. Lounge of a two bedroom suite - This suite has a good sized lounge/diner which is equiped with a wood burner, TV, video, stereo. The associated bedrooms are compact and share an en-suite facility. The shower room, bedrooms, and a small snack kithen, are through the door shown at the end of the lounge. The snack kitchen of a 2 bedroom suite - The Snack kitchen of this two bedroom suite is large, this suite also has a large lounge/diner and two bedrooms with en-suite facilities for each bedroom. Views from the grounds and all standard bedrooms. - Penrose overlooks the softly wooded Derwent Valley (here seen filled with early morning mist). The villages of Whatstandwell, Crich and Fritchley, plus the National Tramway Museum are within easy walking distance. Wirksworth, Cromford, and Matlock Bath, are in the valley to the right of the picture; Belper is to the left. The hills are the peaks of the Peak District. Chatsworth House is a pleasant drive along the edge of the Derwent Valley. To the far right, and out of shot, is the Crich Memorial Tower, the Crich Tramway Museum and the village church spire. In the valley is the Heritage Corridor, where you can walk (& in some cases row) past many museums commemorating the origin of the Industrial Revolution. The towns of Alfreton and Ripley are only ten to fifteen minutes away, making this a relaxing location for the business person. |
