The Old School, a 5 star Gold Award property, in an 18th century stone building, originally a village school, with lovely south facing gardens surrounded by woodland in the small conservation village of Newton on the Moor,five miles south of the market town of Alnwick - famous for its Castle and The Alnwick Garden. Newton on the Moor is situated in the heart of rural Northumberland, a most tranquil part of the country. Yet we are only 1 mile from the A1, and Newcastle airport is only ½ an hours drive. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland Coast, a stretch of stunning coastline, which has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, are all also within ½ an hours drive. Part of the original school playground provides ample FREE parking. FREE WiFi is available in most parts of the house. For the comfort and consideration of all guests, all areas in the house are non-smoking. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children or pets.
