| A friendly, Family-run Bed and Breakfast hotel 5 minutes from Heathrow, offering great value Budget Accommodation (this is not the Ritz!). Close to central London by train for sightseeing, Museums, Theatre and shopping; also convenient for Windsor/ Legoland, Slough, Iver, Stockley Park, Uxbridge and Wembley Stadium.
TAXIS FROM HEATHROW: On arrival at Heathrow Airport, please call our local Taxi company - LHR Cars of West Drayton, on 01895-444333/ 444444 and either give them your mobile no, or describe to them what you are wearing, etc so that they do not miss you outside Heathrow! LHR Cars will transport you to West Drayton - for approx £8.00. If they are busy when you call them, then please try contacting Sky Cabs on 01895-252525. Other Heathrow Taxi drivers are liable to charge you much more money! BY CAR FROM HEATHROW/ M4/ J4 DIRECTION: To find our guest house, take the M4 from the M25 (J15) and leave the M4 very rapidly at Junction 4 (Uxbridge A408/ Heathrow) and concentrate HARD! Stay in left-hand lane & take 2nd left at busy traffic light complex, into Cherry Lane, between Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Novotel, with an arrowhead pointing left, ←West Drayton. Cherry Lane turns into Sipson Rd; continue & go straight at the 2 small sets of traffic lights after ‘Costcutter’ parade of shops on left - then past “Fox & Pheasant” on right, into Station Rd. After St Martin's Vet on your left and the black Texaco Garage to your right, you will see Oakwood Guest House, after the “6 Bells” Pub on the right. BY CAR From M4O/ UXBRIDGE DIRECTION: From M40, take Exit 1 at hectic Denham Roundabout, and then A4020 towards Uxbridge. At 2nd roundabout/ traffic light complex in Uxbridge - with modern MANPOWER building in centre, take A408 towards Heathrow, Cowley & Yiewsley - to right. Drive through Cowley & continue along A408 few miles - past Esso/ Tesco Express Garage on left & then various warehouses on right, until you reach traffic lights in Yiewsley - with Iceland & Aldi on right. Continue past Woolworths, HSBC Bank, etc. & over the Canal bridge, passing West Drayton Stn on left, & then past a Spar Supermarket on corner on left. Shortly after Brandville Road on your left, you will see Oakwood Guest Hse - beyond the silver-grey shutters, and just before the 'Six Bells' Pub on the left. PARKING: 3 compact Parking spaces available either side of Guest House. However, our secure Car Park is behind the guest house: turn left (or right - depending which direction you have driven from) after Chas Cameron Lettings, into Brandville Rd, then immediately right into Bellclose Road, & quickly right again between houses, into Car Park with locked mesh gate (with Green garage doors ahead). Please be sure to ring on our Front Door bell - or call us on 07720-074800 before arrival, so we can unlock our Car Park for you. BUS FROM HEATHROW: You can also get here in 15 mins by the U3 local Bus, leaving from Stand 18 at Heathrow Central Bus Stn. Pay the driver £2.00, or use an Oyster Card.(Get off at the end of Swan Road, West Drayton, cross over Station Rd at the T Junction, towards Harmondsworth and Sipson. Then walk to the right - past S.H. Harrold, Opticians and 2 small Indian restaurants; cross over Brandville Road & we are on the left - after silver-grey shutters and just before "6 Bells" Pub). Alternatively, you could get off at the next Stop, by The The Griddle Diner Café on Station Road, cross over Station Rd and turn right – walk past the Spar Supermarket & then past 2 small Indian restaurants, cross over Brandville Road & the Guest House is on the left, before the ""Six Bells". TRAIN TO LONDON: Regular, efficient Thames train service [from the Oxford/Reading and Slough direction] into Paddington, Central London from West Drayton station, which is only 5 minutes away on foot. 4 trains every hour mid-week - 25 minute journey from West Drayton to Paddington, and these trains continue running until late at night. The (brown) Bakerloo Line will whisk you rapidly down to Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus etc from Paddington. There are many other inexpensive, but good, Restaurants within easy walking distance - Italian, Chinese and Indian as well as Fish & Chips. Excellent shops, Supermarkets, Banks, Post Office, Chemists and mobile Phone Shops and Internet Cafes all close by as well. Delicious full English Breakfasts served every morning. Light Breakfast Snacks can be left in rooms for clients with early morning Departures/ flights. WiFi Laptop access also available in all our rooms - for a modest additional Charge. | Cherry Lane Roundabout near J4 of the M4 Motorway - This is to assist whilst negotiatig the unuser-friendly Cherry Lane Roundabout complex - when approaching Oakwood Guest House from the direction of M4/ J4/ Heathrow. Oakwood Guest House Dining Room - Guests are most welcome to watch T.V. and read the paper here, and may want to leave large pieces of luggage overnight before an early departure from the airport the following morning. Delicious full English, and Continental, Breakfast served here very morning too. Oakwood Guest House Off Street Car Park - This is behind the Guest HOuse, off Bellclose Road, West Drayton and is kept permanently padlocked - for security. Typical Oakwood Bedroom - Coloured T.V. and tea-coffee making facilities, as well as opening window. Shower, basin and W.C. in small adjacent adjacent Shower Woom. |
