| Thurnham Keep is one of the most beautiful places to stay in the South of England and our aim is to ensure your stay is a happy and memorable experience. Located 3 miles from Maidstone on the ancient Pilgrims Way, the house sits just below the site of Thurnham Castle and the crest of the North Downs.
This beautiful Edwardian country house, surrounded by 7 acres of gardens, enjoys stunning views out over the Kent countryside and the Weald. Yet, it is easy to access being 5 minutes from the M20, 10 minutes from the M2, 2 minutes from Bearsted station or 20 minutes from the Eurostar service at Ashford International station. The many nearby attractions in the area include the remains of Thurnham Castle, The White Horse Woods Project, walking the North Downs Way, the Kent County Show Ground, Leeds Castle, Cobham Manor riding stables or why not head down to the coast which can be reached in less than half an hour. You are welcome to explore the extensive gardens and enjoy a range of leisure facilities including a large heated swimming pool (summer months only), tennis court, croquet and the snooker room.Whether your stay is for business or pleasure, we can promise you a unique experience. We only use three large double rooms (all with ensuite) for guests, so you'll be sure of being well looked after. Each room is absolutely beautiful, giving you the opportunity to sleep in Edwardian elegance with large traditional bathrooms and then wake up to breathtaking views. Choose from a choice of healthy continental options or a traditional full English breakfast. When possible, we try to offer whatever is in season from our own fruit & vegetable gardens (where we grow 20 different types of fruit), honey from our hives, home made jams, eggs from our free range chickens. Evening meals can also be provided (with prior notice) or we can direct you to several excellent nearby restaurants and pubs. |
