Fidra House has recently been formed from 3 village cottages, restored and extended by Marian and Ian Ramsay to form an interesting and unique house of character.

The entrance hall has a cosy wood burning stove which brings an instant impression of warmth and welcome. Rosewood floors and antique furniture, original artworks and fresh flowers all combine to make Fidra House a haven for visitors.

Our guest accommodation lies within a pretty cottage in the garden, and is separate from the main house where breakfast will be taken. Our guests enjoy complete privacy and also great tranquillity as the only sound to be heard is birdsong!

One of our double rooms has a king sized bed and each has its own beautiful shower room. The views from these rooms, which are on the first floor, are lovely - looking across farmland and hills.

Our ground floor bedroom is exceptionally spacious and has twin beds. There is also a generous sized ensuite shower room.

Guests also have the pleasure of a comfortable lounge with TV and drinks tray - for that pre-dinner glass of wine!

Breakfast is served in our dining room overlooking the courtyard garden with pond. Enjoy a full Scottish breakfast cooked on the Aga or a delicious vegetarian selection. There is also an extensive buffet of fresh fruits, cereals, yoghurt, smoothies and juices. Bread and preserves are homemade.

Athelstaneford is an ancient hamlet lying amongst some of East Lothian's prettiest countryside, some 6 miles inland from North Berwick. This village is famous as the birthplace of Scotland's national flag, the Saltire or St. Andrew's Cross.
