Bridgend House stands on the Green in the centre of the award-winning village of Drumnadrochit. Just a short walk from the Monster Exhibitions, Castle Urquhart and mysterious Loch Ness. It is an ideal base for touring the Scottish Highlands and walking.

Bridgend House is a cosy Scottish home which offers guests a choice of 3 tastefully decorated bedrooms:

The double bedrooms have Sky TV. All bedrooms have hairdryers, books, beverage trays and many little extras. No smoking throughout.

Breakfast is served in a pretty dining room with many homemade offerings of preserves, bread and cereals.
For lunches, snacks and evening meals, you will find a variety of excellent restaurants around the village green and in the local area.

If you want a quiet moment, then take a seat in the sunroom or stroll around the garden and see the little cottage which has had a very colourful life since the early 1800s.

Bridgend House is over 165 years old and has a claim to have been a 'poor house' at the end of the 1880s and then a prison. Later it was used as lodgings for soldiers returning from World War I. Behind the house is the River Eurich which flows from high up in the glens and down into Loch Ness.
The present village green was the site of a busy cattle market in early 1800 when drovers brought their cattle to the village and then onwards to the docks at Inverness via the drovers tracks which now shadow the Great Glen Way walking route.

Outdoor Activities
In addition to the Great Glen Way which runs 73 miles from Fort William to Inverness, this area has unlimited opportunities for walkers of all abilities. Close to Drumnadrochit is scenic Glen Affric (one of the longest glens of the Great Glen) and Glen Strathfarrar which is home to some of the 284 Munros in Scotland. Golf, fishing, horse-riding and shooting are all available locally. During the winter season, ski-ing takes place on the Nevis Range near Fort William and in the Cairngorm mountains near Aviemore.

Sightseeing
While you are here, you shouldn't miss a boat trip on Loch Ness which will give you a splendid view of Castle Urquhart from the water. There are regular departures from spring to autumn from Drumnadrochit and also Inverness. The locks of the Caledonian Canal can be seen in the pretty village of Fort Augustus.

Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Culloden Battlefield and Fort George are just some of the other historic places of interest in this area. Step back further in time and visit the stone circles of the Clava Cairns and the Corrimony Chambered Cairn which is situated in Glen Urquhart.
