Welcome to Grinkle Lodge, a warm and friendly house where the comfort and enjoyment of guests is the top priority of Tim and Janette, the resident owners. The setting is very rural with pheasants roaming everywhere and it is not uncommon to see wild deer along the lane leading to the house.
On chilly evenings a roaring fire burns in the guests' sitting room: this room is filled with interesting reading matter on a range of subjects from Harry Potter to Freud for Beginners with many books on art and artists.
In summer, weather permitting, pre-dinner drinks can be enjoyed outside in the large secluded garden where bird life is greatly encouraged. There is also a large wildlife pond that provides much interest and entertainment.
Grinkle Lodge is perfect for a "battery recharging" break, offering comfortable en-suite bedrooms all with television, hospitality tray, electric razor point, clock radio alarm and hair drier, but also featuring thoughtful extra touches including fresh flowers and home made biscuits.
The decor and furniture throughout has been carefully chosen to be in harmony with the age and character of the house, and the hand-painted murals are a unique and delightful feature.
Tim and Janette's previous restaurant with recognition from The Good Food Guide and Egon Ronay ensures that imaginative freshly cooked meals are on offer, together with home made bread and preserves. The best quality fresh ingredients are always used, and home grown vegetables in season.
Why not make sure that your next holiday break is a real success and book soon to enjoy some old fashioned hospitality?
We are completely non-smoking and do not allow
pets inside the house. We regret that the house is not
suitable for children under 12.
Please note that we do not accept bed and breakfast only or single night bookings at weekends.
