This three story mansion is resplendent in period architectural details, including massive Corinthian columns flanking the front porch steps, original vintage moldings, oak floors, soaring 12 foot ceilings on the first floor, and a sweeping carved oak staircase accented with stunning original stained glass windows that shine into the stately foyer. There are six fireplaces with original wood or marble mantles to provide the perfect ambience in the manor.
The house is steeped in colorful Texas history. It was built by Clement Newton Bassett, who in 1861 became one of Terry's Texas Rangers, the eighth Texas Cavalry in the Civil War.
