| An elegant Edwardian house situated just off the A35 between the historic market town of Bridport with its twice weekly street markets and the harbour at West Bay.
We offer family run comfortable accommodation with many thoughtful extras. We offer a choice of rooms, including 2 on the ground floor and 2 family rooms, all individually decorated and all with full ensuite bath or shower rooms, tea / coffee making facilities, refridgerators, TV and hairdryers. 10 mins walk to the harbour, beaches, cliff top golf course and the Dorset Coast Path, now part of the World Heritage Coast site with its wonderful walks, spectacular views and unspoiled beaches. Spacious rooms, south facing dining room and lounge, private parking, patio and garden for you to enjoy. We aim to make your stay with us as relaxing as possible. AA and VisitBritain 4 star guest accommodation. Pets welcome (by arrangement). The historic towns of Dorchester and Lyme Regis are a short drive away and Somerset and Devon are close by. Britmead is the ideal base for exploring. Most of West Dorset is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty - from the Jurassic coastline famous for it fossils to the rolling hills: home of the Cerne Giant. We are just 10 minutes walk from West Bay, location for the BBC series 'Harbour Lights' with its picturesque harbour, beaches, and the Dorset coastal path. There is also the spectacular cliff top Bridport and West Dorset golf course, Chesil Beach and Golden Cap. ( The highest point on the south coast): all now part of Dorset's World Heritage coast site. We have a large private car park so you can leave the car and stroll to the numerous pubs and restaurants around the harbour and enjoy a drink. |
