Gill and Alec Saville welcome you to the Abbey Guest House - privately run bed and breakfast guest accommodation in the heart of the historic city of York. Ideally situated on the banks of the River Ouse, only a few minutes walk from the city centre of York and close to all tourist attractions, entertainment facilities, restaurants, bars and shops – the Abbey Guest House can be your base for whatever type of visit you make to the city. We have a lovely garden with terrace and garden furniture for guest use and views onto the riverside walk into the city centre. The Abbey Guest House has only five guest bedrooms, ensuring a personal service for all our guests and a more intimate atmosphere than many hotels. All of our rooms have en-suite shower, toilet and wash hand basin facilities. All rooms are equipped with colour TV with Freeview, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, towels and information folders about York and Yorkshire in general. Our rooms are decorated in a contemporary style with neutral colour schemes and comfortable duvets and pillows. We have two four poster rooms both with river views, one twin room and a further two double rooms, one of which can also be adapted to a family room with either futon bed or cot. Facilities Car Parking – The Abbey Guest House has it’s own private car park directly adjacent to the house. Parking is free to our guests and we are happy for you to leave your vehicle in the car park on the day of departure until you are ready to leave for your next destination. Secure Bike and Motorcycle parking – We have a secure area to the rear of the property which is ideal for storing your cycle or motorbike. Laundry – We provide a laundry service at a small extra cost. Recommendations – We are happy to sit down with you and provide help and suggestions of what to see and do during your stay, and also with places to eat and drink in the city. Child Friendly – We are genuinely happy to accommodate children of any age and have cot and high chair facilities.
