You can be sure of a warm welcome at Penvith Farmhouse. Set in very pretty surroundings, and only a short distance from the coastal path, it offers two double rooms. The ground floor room is ensuite. The first floor room a dedicated bathroom and space for an additional bed should there be a need to accommodate an extra person. Both rooms have lovely wooden floors and exposed beams.
Breakfast is of the highest quality made, when obtainable, from local produce with a wide range of cooked and continental options. The bread, preserves and honey are home-made whenever possible. Visitors can see the busy Penvith bees at work in the farmhouse garden! Croissants and Pain au Chocolat can be freshly baked to order.
The farmhouse is in an ideal location for exploring local attractions. It is less than 5 minutes drive to the Seaton Beach and nature reserve and a few more minutes to the fabulous sandy beaches of the Whitsand Bay area. A short ride to the picturesque fishing villages of Looe and Polperro and the must-visit Eden Project is within easy reach.
If you enjoy walking, at any level, start at our front door. Ten minutes easy walking takes you to the Cornish Cliff Path. Here on the most wonderful of pathways, free from any traffic, there is access to endless miles of coastal scenery the equal of anywhere in the world. For those relishing a different form of exploration, on foot or by car, the impressive Bodmin Moors are easily reached. Sometimes bleak but always beautiful these moors are the home of the fabled beast of mysterious and fearsome reputation.
Thirty minutes drive takes you to the historic Tudor mansion Cotehele House, surrounded by it's spectacular gardens stretching down to the old Cotehele Quay on the River Tamar. Here you can visit the renovated water mill and perhaps buy some of the stone ground flour we often include in our home made bread.
Should you wish for a less energetic day or two the farmhouse benefits from a mini woodland surrounding a scluded open area where guests can relax, sunbathe, enjoy a bottle of wine or a b-b-q while watching the sun set over the sea and Cornish countryside.
