La Cachette B&B is in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne close to Sarlat and Domme. Situated in an elevated position overlooking the village of Grolejac with wonderful views down to the Dordonge valley. The river Dordogne winds its way past the village. There are 2 restaurants in the village within walking distance, one on the lake. We have two comfortable large double rooms with exposed beams and seating. Both are named after two of the local chateaux: Montfort: Large double with views down the valley and a large private shower room. Fenelon: Large double (with additional single bed)with ensuite shower room. Breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beamed salon where there is a log burning fire out of season. Guests have use of a sunny terrace which is a lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and take in the view. There is a shady terraced garden with sun-loungers. We are close to medieval Sarlat, Domme and the beautiful riverside villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac. Rocamadour is an hour's drive away. We are near to the border of the Lot region, so it is also possible to explore the lovely sights this region also has to offer. Locally, Grolejac offers 2 restaurants within walking distance (one with a bar), a large lake which is safe for swimming and a sandy beach, an excellent cycle path which follows the river valley (we have 2 bikes for hire), tennis court and canoe hire on the river Dordogne. There is also a golf course and horse riding close by. There are 4 airports within a 2 hour drive: Bergerac, Limoges, Toulouse and Rodez. All operate low cost flights and car hire. By road we are approximately 40 mins from the A20 autoroute, junction 55. We regret we are unable to accommodate children. Wifi available. No smoking inside the house. No pets accepted.
