Braemar Lodge Hotel was formerly a Victorian shooting lodge and is set in extensive grounds two minutes from the center of Braemar in the heart of Royal Deeside. Best described as an hotel of character, it has the air of a large family house that has not forgotten its sporting origins. Built of grey granite that glitters in the highland sunshine, Braemar Lodge enjoys the illustrious history of being a former Victorian shooting lodge. The local red deer population have obviously forgotten its past for they are often to be seen running through the grounds of the hotel, particularly during the winter months. Braemar Lodge extends a welcoming, comfortable ambience that is evident from the moment you step through the door. There are seven bedrooms, three doubles, two twins and two singles, all of which have en-suite facilities, a television and tea and coffee making facilities. Family rooms are also available. Self-catering log cabins are all furnished to a high standard with bed linen, duvets, and towels included. Within the hotel grounds are nine extremely comfortable one and three bedroom log cabins which have been awarded a Scottish Tourist Board 3* rating. These are perfect for families, or for those who want the independence of self-catering, but with the option to dine in the hotel if you feel like time off from cooking. Each cabin has a spacious open plan lounge / kitchen / dining area with large French windows and wooden decked verandah. Double glazing and full insulation ensures our cabins remain snug and cosy all year round, even in the depths of winter. One of our cabins is fully equipped for disabled guests who require wheelchair access. Our great value Bunkhouse provides comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people within the hotel grounds. The bunkhouse is equipped with two shower rooms, one of which is suitable for wheelchair access. The bunkhouse also has excellent drying and laundry facilities, excellent for damp clothes and ski boots. A generous fully equipped kitchen is also available for all your self catering needs. Guests are also welcome to use the hotels excellent dining facilities if a rest from self catering is required. All bed linen and towels are supplied for the duration of your stay.
