Chris and Margo Brown offer their guests a warm welcome to their attractive Victorian house, in the heart of St. Cross, just south of the city centre.
The first floor double bedroom, with hand basin, is well furnished and quiet, overlooking a mature garden.It has its own private bathroom just below. There is a further cosy en-suite single bedroom on the second floor. Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room. There is car parking outside in the road, with a free visitors' permit.
The City Centre, with a splendid choice of shops, restaurants, pubs and historic sites, including the famous cathedral and Round Table, is only a level 10 - 15 minutes walk away. Winchester College and the University are also close by, as are the delightful Water Meadows and the ancient St. Cross Church and Almshouses.
Surrounding Winchester are many attractive villages and small towns, including Stockbridge, Alresford and Romsey, and delightful country pubs, set in the Hampshire countryside. Winchester itself is easily raeched by car, via the M3, M27 or A34, or by train from London ( one hour ). Southampton Airport is just 12 miles away.
