| Dating from the 15th Century and oozing with history Mayfield is now a charming family home with all the trappings for modern day life. Set in peaceful grounds, which include a swimming pool, tennis court and vegetable garden, it is a perfect centre for visiting Marlborough, Hungerford, Avebury and Stonehenge.
With its large inglenook fireplace, fine antiques and spacious conservatories it is the perfect tranquil place to stay for both winter and summer breaks. Breakfast can be taken in the conservatory or at the large refectory table in the old beamed part of the house. Supper, by request, can be eaten here, in the conservatory or even outside on a sunny evening. We try and use home- grown or locally produced products. |

| Aerial view of Mayfield and grounds - The Conservatory - The conservatory, where one can soak up the early morning sun while eating breakfast, has a large mural painted on the side of the house. The dining-room - The dining-room is also in the old part of the house. Here one can take a deliciously large breakfast and also, by request, a two course evening meal. The living-room - This room is the oldest part of the house and was built in the 15th Century, being a Wiltshire 'long house'. The inglenook fireplace would have been added in the early 17th Century. The Twin Room - Bright and cosy twin room looking out over the garden, stables and open fields. |
