| Barnbridge is about 200 years old and is on the outskirts of East Tytherton. It is in a very peaceful setting surrounded by agricultural land and enjoys beautiful views. It is a typical old farmhouse and very picturesque. The Bed and Breakfast accommodation consists of a self-contained flat, so guests may come and go without disturbing the owners, which has one twin bedroom which can also take an extra child, a double bedroom and a single. There is a bathroom, which is for the sole use of guests and another cloakroom downstairs with a shower. All the bedrooms have televisions and radios, and provisions for making tea and coffee are provided. Downstairs there is a very large room soley for the use of guests, with French windows leading out onto the garden, where breakfast is served and guests may relax when they have had enough sightseeing!
The house has its own tennis court and heated swimming pool, which is open for six months of the year. This has a removable dome, which ensures that the pool is kept warm during the colder months. There is no shortage of parking facilities.
Barnbridge is well placed for a number of popular tourist attractions, such as Bath (10 minutes by train), Avebury, Marlborough, Devizes, picturesque Bradford-on-Avon and Longleat with its safari park. There is the Great Western Designer Village in Swindon where you can find top designer goods at prices between 30 and 50% lower than in traditional High Street shops. We also have the Cotswold Water Park nearby where you can jet ski, Go Kart, Quad Bike, Canoe and numerous other water sports.
Barnbridge has 2 pubs nearby which both serve excellent food. One is The Foxham Inn, which is a very typical little country pub and the other is just up the road at Langley Burrell, called the Brewery Arms. They are both within 6 minutes drive. |
