The Spitall of Glenshee is located over 2,100 feet (640 metres) above sea level, just off the A93 from Perth and Blairgowrie to Braemar. The site has been used as an inn since 961 AD. Today it is home to comfortable bedrooms including luxury suites, a fine-dining restaurant and ample parking. The Spittal of Glenshee sits between the Central and Eastern Highlands, on the road to Royal Deeside with easy access to 4 glens: Glenshee, Glenbeag, Glen Lochsie and Glen Taitneach. The area is also popular for climbing, hiking, golfing, mountain biking and horse riding.
During your stay at the Spittal of Glenshee you can enjoy walks with the 3 resident Springer Spaniel dogs: Mac, Ben and Sam. Simply collect their leads at reception and donate a few pence to their favourite charity, the R.N.L.I. Please note that there are many sheep in the area, and therefore dogs must be kept on a lead when near them. Clearly the Spittal of Glenshee is dog-friendly, so you can bring your own dog with you. They are allowed into bedrooms and the lounge but must have their own bed and be fed outside. Dogs must not be left unattended. There is a heated kennel available. For your convenience there is a Night Porter available from 23:30 to 07:30. A games room is open until 23:00 each day. Here you can enjoy a game of pool or darts. If you would prefer to simply sit back and relax, you can warm yourself by the welcoming log fire in the lounge. |
