With a beautiful, peaceful location, on the south side of Loch Tay, not far from the village of Kenmore, the hotel is small-scale, intimate and very personal. There are just 20 rooms in the main hotel, as well as 2 cottage suites and 5 new burnside rondevals (a South African-influenced thatched cottage). With Europe's most extensive South African wine cellar and superb cuisine, made with great local produce, the hotel holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand symbol and an Inn of the Year award. The hotel has recently taken over the 8000-acre Ardtalnaig Estate and now offers guests guided walks, photographic stalking, off-road cycling and the exclusive use of a mountain bothy for lunch and dinner.
Further afield, there's plenty to see and do: walks, water sports, cycling, historic sights, wildlife watching and, of course, the legendary Loch Tay salmon fishing. But for many, a warm peat fire, a good book and the prospect of a fine meal is activity enough. |
