Woodston Fishing Station was run as a fishing station by Joseph Johnston and Sons Ltd, as a company of salmon fishers and merchants established in 1826.
The station including the Victorian Villa, Bothy, former Skippers quarters and vaulted icehouse built into the cliff face has been included in the combined Statutory and Descriptive List of Buildings of special Architectural and Historic Interest.
Wendy & I would like to thank everyone for staying with us during our first season & to welcome those that are considering a stay with us in the future. We have had a wonderful first year, with some lovely comments, which have spurred us on to, extend & improve our home, here at Woodston Fishing Station.
We wish to give you a run down of the improvements that we have made & are indeed in the process of completing for the New Year. Both of our first floor bedrooms has now been converted to en-suite, with further improvements to beds & decor.
Our Red room has an en-suite bathroom consisting of WC, basin & bath. The pull out couch has been changed to single beds.
Our Blue room has an en-suite shower room consisting of WC, basin & shower. We have scrapped the first floor Gym, which is to be located elsewhere at a later date, half of this has now become my office.
Downstairs we have opened up the Kitchen and converted the existing front bedroom to the Dining room, which enables everyone to watch the sea, whilst eating breakfast. The existing Dining room has become a Bedroom for Wendy & I with an en-suite shower room.
The Green front Bedroom has remained untouched. About the only one that has! I have moved all the outside tables to the front & landscaped the side garden with trees & shrubs. I am also in the process now of landscaping the car-park & the rest of the property. We will also be serving evening meals.
