|The Abbey Guest House is a small and personal guest house that has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Owners Jane & Kingsley are delighted to welcome you to this special riverside location which is just a very short walk along the river path or through the Museum Gardens into the heart of historic York.
With tea or coffee and homemade cake on arrival, your break is sure to get off to a great start. All the bedrooms are en-suite and have power showers, with the front two rooms benefitting from fabulous riverside views.
Cosy and calm with a neutral colour scheme, the bedrooms are perfect to relax and unwind in. Comfortable beds with white cotton bed linen, feather pillows and duvets will ensure a good night’s sleep.
Our award winning breakfast menu, freshly cooked to order, reflects the season and ‘specials’ such as Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs or Pancakes are on offer as a lighter alternative to the traditional English breakfast.
In the summer months, breakfast can be served on our terrace, overlooking the River Ouse. You are welcome to make the most of the terrace and garden at any time of the day and perhaps spend some time watching the world go by.
You can park your car in our private car park, at the side of our house, for no additional charge and leave the car to walk to all the city attractions. If you are arriving by train, we are an easy five minute walk from the train station.
We have recently moved to York ourselves and we are having a great time visiting York’s attractions, restaurants and cafes. We are pleased to be able to give you the benefit of our recent experiences and also enjoy finding out about aspects of the city that are new to us too.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
