Amberley Guest House
Family-run B&B, peaceful location, 3 miles from city centre
|You’re assured of a warm family welcome at Amberley, and the best possible start to your day after a comfortable night’s sleep – we insist on quality beds with excellent support. Breakfast is cooked to order with bacon and sausages from our local butcher, and lovely fresh free range eggs from Nibley Farm.
With easy access via the M4/M5/M32 and A4174 ring road, Amberley is well placed for Bristol’s major employment areas, business parks and tourist attractions. You’ll find us in a quiet, wide residential street just off the A38 Gloucester Road in Filton, and there’s ample parking available. The en suite bedrooms each have WiFi internet access, a writing desk, flat screen TV, hairdryer, and tea/coffee tray.
We are also actively supporting the local initiative to make Bristol a Cycling City, so if you bring your bicycle or motorbike we can offer secure overnight storage.
Within half a mile of Amberley are several pubs, restaurants and take-aways. A little further afield you’ll find charming country inns or chic city restaurants; we’ll be happy to provide directions to these.
We hope you'll enjoy your stay in our home and if you require anything else to ensure your comfort, please don’t hesitate to ask any member of the family.
Liz and Brian Stockdale
Amberley's English breakfast - Free range eggs from Nibley Farm, quality bacon and hand-made sausages from our local butcher, are just three ingredients of the Amberley English breakfast. We also offer grilled tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown and a slice of black pudding - but you can mix and match to suit your own taste. There's a good selection of teas and coffees, brown/white toast, croissants, yoghurts, orange juice - just let us know what you'd like, and we'll be happy to provide it.
Amberley, with beautiful hanging baskets - We have seven large hanging baskets along the front and side of the house, and Brian has installed an automatic watering system so the summer heat doesn't dry them out.
Badminton room - Our largest room, the Badminton offers superior accommodation with two single beds or one 6' wide double bed. There's a table and two chairs, together with a small Victorian settee. On the first floor, this room overlooks the front street and parking area.
Frampton room - Overlooking our quiet residential street, the Frampton is a good-sized single room on the second floor; we've used a sunny wallpaper here.
Frenchay room - A sunny first floor small double room overlooking the garden, and decorated with William Morris wallpaper to reflect the style of the house.
Gifford room - This small single room has an en suite washbasin and WC, and its own private shower just a few steps away on the landing. We provide a toweling bathrobe.
Hambrook room - The Hambrook's roof window enables daylight to stream into the room; just pull down the blackout blind when you're ready to go to sleep.
Tytherington room - The Tytherington is a standard double on the second floor. The sloping ceilings have a cottage-like charm, and there are good views over the rear garden and beyond. You may catch sight of our young dogs Bruin and Sacha playing a game of chase around the magnolia tree.
Winterbourne room - All our rooms are named after local villages, and the Winterbourne can be set up as a spacious double or twin. Overlooking the rear garden, this is a sunny room with large windows.
