|Set in a small village 4 miles from Ross-on-Wye, this 16th century, oak-beamed, former coaching inn has been beautifully refurbished with many antiques to offer the highest standard of accommodation and hospitality to both British and overseas visitors.
The exceptional breakfasts are renowned, winning an AA award and featured on the Local Breakfasts website. No Smoking. Children and Dogs welcome by arrangement.
Adjacent to the Wysis Way and the Gloucestershire Way, this is a haven for walkers, and for those who enjoy the English countryside.
|Breakfast room - Breakfast is taken at a communal table which makes for great conversation and discussions about the best things to do in the area. To start with there is always freshly-squeezed orange juice, or local apple juice. Sophie will prepare a platter of tropical fruits, or there are 2 kinds of porridge, as well as jars of cereals. For a main course, there are butchers sausages and cured bacon, smoked fish and local free-range eggs served any way. Sophie makes all the breads, marmalade and jams that are served at Lea House. There are always at least 2 home-made vegetarian options and celiacs are also catered for. We hope breakfast will always be a pleasant and, if you want it, leisurely experience.|
|Hayloft - This is our deluxe room. It has a super-comfy kingsize bed and overlooks the garden. There is also an armchair and sofa so you can stay in and enjoy the room and the television if you wish. It has an en suite bathroom with power assisted shower.|
|House exterior - |
|Sitting room - Everyone is welcome to come and relax in the sitting room - with a good book, newspaper, one of our magazines or the television. On cold evenings the fire can be lit and a huge log will burn all evening. It is especially nice to sit by if you have just enjoyed a Lea House dinner, and are relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
|The Garden - We have a pretty walled garden for guests' use. |
|The Granary Bedroom - Superking double or Twin - This is a pretty room and flexible in that the bed can be made up as two twin beds or they can be zipped together to make a huge superking. There is a little cast iron fireplace and huge beams that are, we are told, recycled from the Armada ships! The room has an en suite bathroom with power-assisted shower and lots of toiletries.|
