The Old Vicarage
Beautiful Victorian Country House Vicarage set in over an acre of secluded gardens in the heart of the Peak National Park.
|Originally part of the Chatsworth Estate in 1842, we have lovingly and carefully restored The Old Vicarage, so that the house retains many beautiful features whilst offering all the modern luxuries to make it a home from home. Set in the pretty stone village of Wetton, all our rooms have views overlooking the countryside and we have a very handy village pub a mere 2 minutes walk away. The house is set in over an acre of secluded gardens so it is a wonderful place to relax and unwind after a hard day out exploring.
Wake up to the aroma of Nicky's freshly baked breads and cakes and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast served with seasonal fruits and home made organic jams from fruit grown in our organic vegetable garden. After a day exploring, enjoy afternoon tea in the gardens, formerly village tennis courts, or in the winter months curl up in front of a roaring fire. We offer free WIFI to all our guests as well as fresh flowers in your room and home made cake and tea to welcome you. All our rooms have digital flat screen TV and DVD.
Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Dovedale and Manifold Valleys in the heart of the Peak District, we are in a great location with literally dozens of walks and cycle rides straight from the door. You can easily walk to the Manifold and Dovedale trails from the house as well as joining the Tissington and High Peak cycle Trails. We have plenty of books and maps for you to borrow and as keen walkers ourselves, we can advise on most things!
Only a short drive away are the pretty market towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton, as well as many stately homes, including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. For the less faint-hearted we are also only a short drive away from Alton Towers.
