Rosemount is situated in the picturesque sailing village of Kippford. Our seafront position provides stunning views across the Urr Estuary to the hills of Bengairn and Screel.
Guests can enjoy magnificent views of the yachts and boats as they sail past our front door.
New for 2009, we have a fully-refurbished deluxe double suite comprising of 2 interconnecting rooms with a bedroom with superking bed and a lounge area with stunning coastal views and en-suite facilities. To add to the luxury, for that all-important rest and relaxation time, the suite's living room has leather recliner chairs along with a large flat screen TV with 'freesat' channels.
In addition we also offer a twin bedded en-suite room with superb views over the water, and a further double bedroom which has a refurbished separate private luxury bathroom.
And for those with young children (under the age of 14), our family room is in our garden annexe with its own private access and a partial view across the water. This room comprises of a superking double bed, bunk beds and en-suite shower room. This room is also available as a double or twin for two persons.
All bedrooms have TV's with 'FreeSat' channels, tea and coffee making facilities and a comprehensive tourist information pack.
The conservatory at the front of the house is a fantastic spot to sit and enjoy a drink and take in the wonderful views and beautiful sunsets, the conservatory also has a television.
Rosemount is the ideal base for exploring the area. We have sandy beaches just a 5 minute drive away. Two RSPB bird sanctuaries along with the Red Kite trail are close by. Coastal and woodland walks are literally on the doorstep, with the scenic Victorian Jubilee path starting in Kippford, with a gentle walk to Rockcliffe where you can stop for tea and for the more adventurous the coastal path will take you all the way to Sandyhills.
We are only 5 minutes by car from the world renowned 7 Stanes mountain bike trail at Dalbeattie. We have secure bike storage, bike cleaning and repair area and clothes drying facilities. Bike hire and repair centres are all close at hand.
The area boasts an abundance of wonderful gardens, with the National Trust Threave Gardens and Castle being particularly spectacular throughout all seasons.
Within the immediate locality there are a number of Golf courses for players of all abilities. We have a nine-hole course in the village, Colvend Golf course is a 10 minute drive away and the championship 18 hole course at Southerness is approximately 15 minutes by car.
