|RICHARD AND ROSIE BOWEN welcome you to their family run Bed and Breakfast in an early 19th Century rectory. Staunton House is set in 3 acres of stunning grounds, with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and, according to many guests, the most comfortable beds ever slept in!
Staunton-on-Arrow is a charming village, just outside of Leominster - 6 miles from the Welsh border and within easy reach of market towns Ludlow and Hereford.
The accommodation boasts a heated swimming pool, summerhouse, astroturf tennis court and a beautiful walled garden.
We provide a hearty full English breakfast with fresh fruit and cereals. The kitchen garden provides fresh vegetables in season for those who wish to enjoy our two or three course dinner.
Our bedrooms are large, airy and equipped with all the home comforts needed to make your stay with us a pleasurable one.
If you're a fan of rural countryside, we are an ideal place to stay and you may wish to walk and explore The Marches, Offa's Dyke, the Black and White Trail, National Trust properties and Herefordshire's many historic castles and churches. In particular, Hereford Cathedral and its Mappa Mundi and unique Chained Library.
Close by is the Georgian town of Ludlow - renowned for its famous restaurants and medieval castle. Sixteen miles away is Hay-on-Wye, nestling under the foothills of the Black Mountains and internationally known for its Literary Festival, which takes place in late May.
For those interested in golf, the highest golf course in England is just seven miles away at Kington, where it is possible to see five counties on a fine day.
Day tickets to fish approximately ten miles of the local rivers, Lugg and Arrow, for Brown Trout and Grayling can be aquired nearby. Further afield, through the Wye and Usk Foundation, guests can obtain access to these two famous rivers for coarse and game fishing.
