|Beach Lodge is an Edwardian House built around 1910, which we have renovated with a lot of care and attention to modern standards whilst retaining the original features you would expect, such as the 'Minton' floor tiled hallway leading to the main staircase, which takes you to the guest bedrooms on the first and second floors. All the rooms on the ground and first floors have their original high ceilings with their decorative covings and in the Dining room we have restored the original cast iron fireplace. On your arrival at our front door you will be able to call us by ringing our old brass pull handle door bell.
All the guest bedrooms have good restful beds, their own generously proportioned en-suite bathrooms with either a shower or bath. The bedrooms have complimentary toiletries, white bath and hand towels, hair dryers, tea/coffee making facilities, Free Wi-Fi and Freeview flat screen colour TV's. We have a guest lounge where guests can relax after a day on the beach or maybe sight seeing; we have a full range of local attraction leaflets and guides detailing places to go and things to do, and finally we have a book library with a variety of books for guests to borrow.
Our breakfast menu includes a choice of a full English breakfast which is freshly cooked to order (vegetarian option also available) or a continental breakfast including various cereals, homemade muesli, yogurts and chilled fresh fruit juices; a selection of fresh fruit; choice of breakfast tea, Earl Grey, fruit teas or fresh coffee, and choice of toast breads and jams or marmalade.
We are located in a quiet tree lined avenue only 50 metres from Southbourne's Blue Flag beach - an easy 10 minute stroll and at the opposite end of Grand Avenue is Southbourne Grove that has a selection of shops, pubs and cafés.
Nearby is Boscombe Pier which is short a walk away and is the location of Europe's first artificial surf reef. Bournemouth town centre is only 2½ miles away and Bournemouth Pier is about a 40 minute walk along the promenade or beach with Christchurch being 2½ miles in the opposite direction.
Beach Lodge is also a great base from which you can explore the New Forest, Jurassic Coastline and many other areas of the beautiful counties of Dorset and Hampshire.
